About the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS)
Formerly known as the Nigerian Prisons Service, the Nigerian Correctional Service is a paramilitary organization responsible for the management of prison facilities across the country. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior and functions as part of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

Available Positions & Requirements
Below are some of the available positions and their academic requirements:
- Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 09) – For NCoS only: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
- Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09) – For FFS only: Must hold a degree in Law or a BSc in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Water Engineering or any related discipline.
- Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08) – For NSCDC, FFS, and NIS: Requires a BSc or Higher National Diploma (HND).
- Inspector (CONHESS 06) – For NCoS, NSCDC, and FFS: Must be a Registered Nurse or Midwife.
- Assistant Inspector (CONPASS 06) – Requires a National Diploma (ND) or NCE in any relevant field.
- Assistant II (CONPASS 04), General Duty – Must possess GCE, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent with at least five (5) credits in not more than two sittings.
- Assistant III, General Duty – Requires at least four (4) credits in GCE, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent in not more than two sittings.
According to CDCFIB Secretary, Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed Jubril, all applicants must be Nigerian citizens, meet the stated qualifications, and be medically fit for service.

Yes, the Nigerian Correctional Service application form for 2025 has been released and approved by the Presidency. The recruitment is being coordinated by the CDCFIB, and the entire process is free of charge.
General Eligibility Criteria for NCS Recruitment 2025/2026
To qualify, you must:
