You’re in the right place! The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially opened its portal for recruiting election staff for the upcoming Ondo and Edo State Governorship elections.

INEC is offering various opportunities for individuals who want to play a part in the electoral process:


Available Positions

  • Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)
  • Registration Area Center (RAC) Manager
  • Presiding Officer (PO)
  • Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)
  • Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH)

Eligibility Requirements

Before applying, please ensure you meet the qualifications for your preferred role:

  • Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO): Must be a Public/Civil Servant on Grade Level 10–14, or an INEC staff member not assigned other responsibilities (GL 10–14).
  • Registration Area Center (RAC) Manager: Must be the head of a school or a staff member (GL 07 or above) at the institution where the RAC is located.
  • Presiding Officer (PO) / Assistant Presiding Officer (APO): Eligible candidates include serving Corps members, final-year students of Federal/State tertiary institutions with IT skills, permanent MDA staff with an OND or on GL 07–10, INEC staff on GL 07–08, or former Corps members (not earlier than 2021).
  • Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH): Applicants must have an IT background and be qualified INEC ICT staff (State or HQ) not currently assigned to other duties.

Steps to Apply for INEC Adhoc Staff Recruitment

Ready to register? Follow these straightforward steps to apply:

  1. Review the eligibility requirements for each available position to identify the one that best matches your qualifications.
  2. Click the “Register” button and follow the prompts to create your account and set up a password.
  3. After logging in, complete the application form, which is divided into three sections: Personal Information, Contact Information, and Bank Details. Ensure all details, especially your BVN-linked name, are accurate—no changes can be made after submission.
  4. Upload a recent passport photograph with a plain background, not exceeding 5MB in size.
  5. Provide the contact information of two referees who can verify your character.
  6. Check the attestation box to confirm that all information provided is correct. Your details will be validated by your institution, organization, or referees.
  7. Carefully review your entire application, as submissions cannot be edited once finalized.
  8. Print your acknowledgement slip after submitting your form—this will be required during the final verification phase.

Required Documents and Information Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following items ready before starting your application:

  • A valid email address.
  • An active mobile phone number.
  • Your personal bank account number.
  • A recent passport photo with a white background (max size: 5MB).
  • Contact information (email and phone) for two referees.
  • A valid Staff or Student ID Number.
  • NYSC Call-Up Number (for ex-corps members from 2018 onward and 2022 for current corps members).
  • A PDF copy of your highest educational qualification.
  • A valid form of ID in .jpg or .jpeg format.
